Stephanie Dowdy, DVM

Dr. Dowdy is a proud Alabama native who earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. War Eagle! Her professional interests include internal medicine, animal welfare and behavior, oncology, geriatric medicine, and feline medicine. Throughout her career, Dr. Dowdy has practiced in Alabama, Maryland, and Florida in general practice, emergency medicine, and leadership roles. Most recently, she owned and served as Medical Director of a veterinary hospital in Ave Maria, Florida, where she was dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for pets and the people who love them. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Dowdy enjoys traveling, staying active, hiking, and spending time outdoors on her small hobby farm, where she cares for chickens and other beloved pets. Her cat, Hudson, happily runs the household. She is an identical twin, values time with her close-knit family, and is an avid Auburn football fan. She also enjoys visiting Major League Baseball ballparks across the country and has checked 15 off her list. One of her proudest personal achievements was celebrating her 50th birthday by completing the trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. Dr. Dowdy is excited to join the Brown Veterinary Hospital team and looks forward to building lasting relationships with clients while helping their pets live happy, healthy lives.
