Dr. Taylor Leander grew up in Fort Pierce, Florida, where she attended Indian River State College on a volleyball scholarship and earned an Associate of Arts in Biology. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a specialization in Animal Biology from the University of Florida before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Leander is Fear Free Certified and trained in Advanced Life Support. She enjoys caring for a wide variety of patients and has a special interest in mixed animal medicine, surgery, and treating both small and large animals. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Leander loves spending time outdoors. Whether she’s running with her two German Shorthaired Pointers, Kennedi and Birdie, boating, fishing, riding ATVs, relaxing at the beach, or spending time on her parents’ farm, she enjoys making the most of every opportunity to be outside. She also enjoys coaching and playing volleyball. One adventure still on her bucket list is swimming with a whale shark.
